![]() ![]() The Imperial Japanese Navy in particular went balls to the wall with explosives for their torpedoes, especially for the Long Lances and their derivatives.Įven air dropped torpedoes were packing way more explosives. Another big problem was that torpedoes were getting a crazier amount of explosives packed into them than at the time even those newer 1930s era Battleships and Battleship refits were done. A problem was that navies had made newer, stronger explosives than TNT such as Torpex, HBT. The torpedo defense systems even for WWII were in doubt. Red is the enemy, how they sink is less relevant than the fact that they do sink. In Co-op it can certainly feel that way - but it's also important to remember that XP and Credits are rewarded based on how much damage you do to the ship (it's better to do most of the damage rather than just grabbing the kill).Īlso note that in WoWs, it's generally stated that "kill-stealing" isn't a thing. I understand the frustration with DDs grabbing up the kills. When Wargaming feels they have them tweaked appropriately I'm sure we will see them added as normal Tech Tree ships. Submarines are present in game (obviously you know this) in tentative, testing phase. Some nations have advantages in certain areas as a sort of "National Flavour." In reality the Japanese had the best torpedoes of the war era, and are represented the same way in game.īattleships do have some protection from torpedoes, you can see each ship's individual Torpedo damage reduction when looking at their stats in Port: ![]() ![]() What really bakes me is the fact that the DD's just run around steal all my BB kills after I do all the friggin work. They also need the Submarine's as a permanent class in the game, I really like using them most of all. The thing I hate is the slow lumbering Battleships, which most after WW1 era would have Belt Armour to combat the Torpedoes to some effect but not in WoWS. I play everything, but Torps are way over powered by certain navies, the Japanese Type 93 is a perfect example, but it didn't take 8-14 to sink a cruiser, it took 2-3 at most. ![]()
